Metro CDMX faces delays and high passenger volumes during peak hours, impacting Lines 3, 8, and 9. Users report long wait times and demand better service options.

Struggles with Metro CDMX Amid Rush Hour

The Mexico City Metro faced issues on several of its lines recently, causing inconveniences for users. On Line 3, from the terminal station Indios Verdes, overcrowding was experienced, resulting in delays and discomfort among passengers.

A similar situation occurred on Lines 8 and 9 of the Mexico City Metro, leading to the closure of segments and the implementation of an emergency RTP bus service. The problems were attributed to failures in the systems and short circuits that affected the movement of trains on those lines.

Users, concerned about possible service interruptions, expressed their unease on social media, sharing videos of the moment they were evacuated from the Metro and had to walk along the tracks to reach the nearest station. Finally, after several hours of repair work, Lines 8 and 9 returned to normal operation.

Amid the difficulties on Lines 8 and 9, Line 5 also experienced high influx, resulting in faster progress of the trains. However, users reported prolonged stops at some stations, leading to complaints and requests for better communication from the passengers.

The Collective Transportation System (STC), through its social media, provided explanations regarding the delays and ensured that operations on the affected lines had returned to normal. Despite the adversities, users were advised to take precautions and stay informed about the service status to plan their trips accordingly.
